Water Planning for the Howard East Aquiferrunoff-under-road_subdivision-large

The Howard East borefield relies on groundwater supplies to satisfy rural and urban residential, horticultural and commercial needs. However, despite recent and significant growth, there is no regional water plan currently in place to ensure that this resource is managed sustainably for future generations.

To assist with planning for the future of this resource, researchers from the Tropical Rivers and Coastal Knowledege (TRaCK) research hub are working with communities and agency staff to develop tools to improve community involvement.

It will be used to assist hydrologists and modelers to account for and explain local observations and trends.
